Hello again,
I hope all of you are doing extremely well. I've been super busy this past month and have severely neglected my blogging duties. Shame on me... But, I swear to do better from now on. Where should I begin...
I attended the
Maxim Hot 100 party last Wednesday night at
Paramount Studios in Hollywood. I wore an awesome pale blue dress from my designer friends Sebastian and Sandy at Yoga Army. And I had a blast! I ran into tons of my friends in the industry as well as Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue (I snapped a pic of us), a couple of models from Deal or No Deal (and found out all the gossip that has been spreading around on set regarding my new book...Yikes!, and I even chatted with the guys over at
MAXIM RADIO. So, if you have satellite radio you can listen to my interview (which they replayed over and over again all last weekend.)
I had my
book release party for
Behind The Briefcase last Friday night at a really cool club in Hollywood called Goa. I wore a beautiful red silk dress that Odette Christiane
designed for me (just for the occasion). One of my favorite makeup artists, Michelle Van Der Hule, came to my house beforehand and did my hair and makeup. Complete with bright red lips and nails. If you're interested in taking a look at the pics you can go visit my myspace or facebook and see them all. (You can find the links at the top of my homepage). Once I arrived at the club, I was extremely pleased with the turnout. All of my close friends attended, as well as, the designers from Yoga Army, my book distribution team from Midpoint (who flew in from New York), and my dear friend Quincy Jones. We gifted our celebrity guests VIP Mezzi Briefcases
filled with goodies (those are the actual briefcases that they use on the show Deal or No Deal). And we rocked the house!!! Well, until 2 am rolled around, and they tossed us out. But in all sincerity, it couldn't have gone better. I had a great time, and I really appreciate everyone's support.
The next morning at noon (which was way, way too early...) I drove downtown to the
LA Convention center and had my very first
book signing at the
Book Expo! It was really fun to meet everyone. There was a really long line, but luckily everybody was pretty patient, and I got to chat for a bit. I took some pics, and I will post them soon. Once again, I wore red. But, no dress this time. Just a red strapless top, jeans, and boots. I wanted to match my large 4 foot poster of my book cover (where I'm wearing a red satin dress). And besides, I've always appreciated red.
Yesterday, I had my first radio interview for my book Publicity Tour led my Michael Wright. I went in the studio for a half hour with
Leeza Gibbons on her
Hollywood Confidential Radio Show. She was fantastic, beautiful, and so kind. I've always loved her. The show will air later this month. I will post the date when it becomes available. (And I took a pic of us in the studio, so I'll remember to post that, too).
Today, I attended an awesome
Lamborghini Event at the California Speedway in Fontana, CA. They rented out the entire California Speedway Racetrack
for us and they had a private unveiling of a new 2009 model. I took a racing class and had a personal driving lesson with a professional racing instructor. Afterwards, I drove a couple of Lambos around the track. The instructor was in the car talking me through the turns and corners. I honestly thought that I would be really nervous and too afraid to floor it, but I did. It was AMAZING!!!! Imagine racing around a track all by yourself going 140 miles an hour. That's how fast I was going. Afterwards, I did an interview with NBC news crew. If I can find the clip, I'll post it on the videos page. I will post a few pics too. I am so happy that I went there, it was definitely one of the most exciting things I have ever done! If you ever have the chance to take a ride around a track-- go for it!
Well, that's all for now. I'm going to take a breather tomorrow and maybe try to get some work done. Wow, now that I look, it's really getting late. I always seem to blog really late at night. Oh, well. I guess I would make a pretty good vampire. Minus all the blood stuff...
Hugs and Kisses,
April
